Engage your local MP
Quick Guide to presenting the Youth Decide results to your local member of parliament
Step 1:
Find out who your local politician is -

Step 2:
Call your local politician to organise a meeting to present the Youth Decide results.
See this guide for how best to engage with your local politician – you might wish to consider some clear action points for the local politician to take up following the meeting. Don’t forget to download the Youth Decide results for your local electorate (they’ll be up soon) to share with your local politician too!
Download the letter to your MP asking them to meet with you.
Step 3:
If your politician is unavailable to meet with you or you’re too busy, send them a letter informing them of the Youth Decide results and your key concerns about climate change. Use the letter to your MP and take out the bit about the meeting
Step 4:
If you do meet with your local politician, it is good practice to send them a thank you letter, summarising your key concerns about climate change discussed in the meeting. Use the ‘
follow up letter’ as a guide. You might also like to suggest some action points for how they can be further involved in the Youth Decide campaign.
